Tokyo Times

With flights looking open, I hopped on a plane with my friend Steve to visit Tokyo. The minute we scored first class for a ten-hour flight, I knew we were bound for a great trip! Four days in Tokyo flew by, and while it was quite a short trip, it was an introduction to a part of the world I have never imagined or experienced. Since Tokyo lacks a distinctively recognizable skyline, they attempted to borrow Paris'. Here I am at Tokyo Tower, a red taller version of the Parisian landmark.

Fanning the smoke of the incense on you is considered healthy, and you commonly see people doing this at the temple. With the hot temperatures and high humidity, I was amazed people would do this. I did it anyway.

Aside from STELLAR people watching, my favorite part of Japan was the signage. This particular beauty came from the subway. Yes, I will do it again.

Overall, a fantastic experience (except the part where we couldn't make any flights home on Monday, and I got trapped in the Japanese immigration office in the airport, and had to stay an extra night in Narita, and I was sure I would have to learn Japanese and move to Japan permanently. Thankfully, we made our flight the next day.)
