Memphis is a trip I have wanted to make ever since I heard Paul Simon sing about Graceland. With flights looking open (and first class available... a snobbish request of mine) Jay and I took a day trip out to the bottom corner of Tennessee to see Graceland, eat barbecue and take a nap on the shore of the Mississippi; in that order.
Jay's favorite part of the day was being able to tour Elvis' private jets, particularly the Lisa Marie. My favorite part was probably walking down Beale Street, which is Memphis' blues-y downtown section.
Day trips probably sound more glamorous than they really are. We had so much fun, but around the time 3 pm hits, we were running on fumes. The flight from Vegas to Memphis was less than 3 hours long, which means that was all the sleep we got. So, since the sun was shining and the skies were clear, we pulled up to the edge of the Mississippi River and took a quick nap before heading back to the airport.
All in all, I think Paul Simon would approve.

You are all about the day trips!! I love it!!
What a fun life! You are gonna look back when you are old and gray and be so grateful that you did all of these fun trips! Love, your ever so jealous friend :)
Oh, you lucky, beautiful blonde. I can't believe you're my sister. And I can't wait for us to be travel buddies. I feel like I have nothing to bring to the table, though, except for long skirts...lots of long, non-sexy skirts.
