Commuter Relationship

Having Jay live a million miles away in Dallas has not been the easiest thing for me. In fact, it's been terribly devastating! We have both been adjusting to the "commuter lifestyle," trying to figure out how frequently he can fly up to St. George, or I can haul my ass down to Dallas. The only payoff I have in this situation, is knowing that he is working a job he's wanted for years, and eventually (June...) we will be together again. Permanently. Fin. So after two weeks of his absence, Jay flew in this weekend. We saw Lion King (Completely spectacular. Breathtaking costumes, and we all know how much I love Elton John!) and hit our favorite Mexican place, Gonzalez y Gonzalez, which has the best salsa in the world. In fact, we took some home with us, and were constantly eating it (as seen below. We couldn't even leave the parking garage without dipping into our reserve of chips and salsa.)
P.S. We don't normally both go out in public wearing matching argyle, like we did for the Lion King. In fact, we didn't notice it until we had left the hotel room. We're awesome.

I really feel for ya on the distance thing. Nick was gone for 16 months in Iraq and then for the next two summers he lived in Cali...I basically hated life. My sister is also dealing with the same thing right now too; her hubby is working/living in Seattle for awhile and she's in Utah. It will get better though. Just makes your relationship stronger!

If you ever need anyone to talk to, I'm here. :)

I was totally going to make fun of you for your matching outfits but you beat me to it. :) You guys are cute and I'm sorry you don't get to see each other very much right now.

And Lion King is amazing. I'm so glad you got to see it. :)

Living apart, even for a relatively short time, has to be hard. I don't envy you. Hopefully it will go by fast and you'll get lots of little fun trips in between. Ian and I are always embarrassed when we meet up for lunch or something and realize we are both wearing argyle. :) Funny.

Hey girl! I'm so sorry that you guys have to be apart right now. It is not easy. Brad and I have had a 4 month separation when he was at basic training and we know we have deployments in our future...All I can say is it's hard and it sucks and I'm sorry you have to do it. But it will end and then you'll get to be together. It will strengthen your relationship and it will help you not take each other for granted, but it still sucks :)

That is really hard to live apart! At least you know it is only for a little while...and by the way I love the matching shirts! :)
