In five months I move to Dallas, Texas. I'm excited, nervous, stressed, happy, and ready. Some days. Anyway, by the time June rolls around, I will be trading Mormons for Baptists, and red rock for red dirt (although, politically, both are red states).
Why it will be easy to go:
I will live in the same city (gasp!) as my husband!
Reasonable proximity to a real airport
Two words: Taco. Cabana.
My chronically dry skin will appreciate the humidity.
Texas ranks #13 in the nation for education. Goodbye #41 (not to mention, Utah is #47 in funding.)
Why it will be hard to leave:
I have an incredible job where I have grown as a teacher. Finding a new job stresses me out.
I will be leaving behind great friends, many of whom are like family.
Honolulu Grill and Durangos
Saint George is so easy to navigate. I will be hopelessly lost in Texas.
A three hour drive to see my sister will become a three hour flight. Maybe four.
Luckily, I have awhile to mentally prepare, physically pack, and emotionally fall apart. Here's to the next great adventure!

I guess I should have realized this kind of announcement was coming. Wow, Linds. Big stuff. I am inspired by your optimism. :)
just let me add to your easy list:
*h&m opening in dallas this year
*shipleys donuts
*bluebell ice cream
*HEB grocery stores
*proximity to world's biggest water park--the beloved schlitterbahn
*roller coasters and whales
*prof sports teams galore
AND, most importantly...
*me as your neighbor to the southeast :)
What the WHAT is Schlitterbahn? We need to figure this situation out, ASAP! Thanks for the hot tips, Lis!
That is a big change, but I'm sure you will love it. Especially the part about being in the same state as your hubby. :) Good luck getting ready for the big move!
PS-Utah is really that crappy at education? Lame.
Good luck with the move Linds! I have to say (and you seem well aware) Texas is a fun, fun state. There's just something about it. OH, and Taco Cabana? Ya, it's awesome! Glad you get to live with your Husband again! Also, maybe you should pick up the movie Mormon's and Baptists. It seems like it might hold significant meaning in your life now. :) Love you!
Also I second Lisa's list and would add to that list, "Whataburger" and schliterbahn is awesome.
Awesome. Good luck on your new adventure Linds! It's tough adjusting to a new place, but also exciting and fun! Uprooting yourself once in awhile is good for you and makes you grow as person. I was spoiled in Utah and I basically had to re-learn social skills these past nine months, but I'm glad I did; I've met some fantastic people and I keep meeting more.
Holy moly girl, congrats for both of you! You'll be closer to Hannah, that's a plus. Hope it all goes as planned and I personally think living outside Utah is absolutely wonderful!
Good luck with all of that Linds. We just spent the last 3 1/2 days in Texas on our way to Alabama, and it seems like a great place to live with lots of nice people. I'm sure that you will love it! Sorry about the hard stuff, but I'm glad you'll be with your honey again.
What do you mean a "three hour drive to see my sister"? I live four hours away, ya dope! ;)
Have fun in TEY-HAAS!!!!!! I'll miss you!
